The Chancellor of the Orders and Honours of the Republic, Mr. Tomi Frashëri, paid an official visit to Paris from 15 to 17 December 2025, with the aim of introducing the specialized public to the new system of honorary distinctions of the Republic of Albania and of laying the foundations for a permanent technical partnership with the Grand Chancery of the Legion of Honour, Europe’s leading model institution for the administration of orders and decorations. On 16 December, the Chancellor, accompanied by Mr. Dritan Tola, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to France, was welcomed at the Museum of the Legion of Honour and of the Orders of Chivalry by its Director and Curator, Mr. Peter Keller, as well as by the executive board of the Friends of the Museum Association (Société des Amis du Musée de la Légion d’honneur et des Ordres de chevalerie), composed of Mr. Dominique Henneresse, Mr. Cyrille Cardona, and Mr. Patrick Spillaert. At the world’s largest museum dedicated to orders and decorations, Mr. Tomi Frashëri was received not only in his capacity as Chancellor of the Orders and Honours of the Republic of Albania, but also as a member of the Friends of the Museum Association, of which he has been a member since 2019. Before a specialized audience, the Chancellor first presented the sets of Grand Stars of the Supreme Order of the Eagle, the Order of Skanderbeg, and the Order of the Academic Oak, as well as the commemorative medallion marking the centenary of the Order of Skanderbeg. This was followed by a two-hour keynote lecture entitled “L’Albanie chevaleresque, hier et aujourd’hui”, which offered an overview of Albania’s European historical trajectory from the Middle Ages onward, examined through the prism of chivalric orders and public honours across the centuries. The lecture concluded with a question-and-answer session. Participants expressed strong interest in Albania’s new system of honorary distinctions. The event took place in one of the Museum’s most distinguished settings: the hall dedicated to the French royal orders of the fifteenth to the nineteenth centuries. On 17 December, the Chancellor, again accompanied by Ambassador Dritan Tola, was received for an official meeting at the Palace of the Legion of Honour by General François Lecointre, the thirty-sixth Grand Chancellor of the Order of the Legion of Honour. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed prospects for technical cooperation between their respective institutions, in light of the model role played by the Grand Chancery of the Legion of Honour for the Albanian Chancery. General Lecointre commended Albania’s efforts to establish a meaningful system for the recognition of merit, centred on honouring individuals for their contributions, and expressed his readiness to support any future initiatives of technical and institutional cooperation. On this occasion, the two Chancellors signed an agreement providing for the inclusion of Albanian decorations in the inventory of the Museum of the Legion of Honour. The sets of Grand Stars of Albania’s three national orders were formally handed over to the Grand Chancellor, with a view to the permanent exhibition, in the near future, of Albania’s decorations in the world’s most important museum of orders and medals, thereby contributing to the enhancement of Albania’s prestige and international image.
Më 16 dhjetor, Kancelari UMR, i shoqëruar nga z. Dritan Tola, Ambasador i Republikës së Shqipërisë në Francë, u mirëprit në Muzeun e Legjionit të Nderit dhe të Urdhrave të Kalorësisë nga Drejtori dhe Konservatori, z. Peter Keller, si edhe nga kryesia e Shoqatës së Miqve të Muzeut të përbërë nga z. Dominique Henneresse, Cyrille Cardona dhe Patrick Spillaert. Në muzeun më të madh në botë të urdhrave dhe medaljeve, z. Tomi Frashëri u mirëprit jo vetëm në cilësinë e Kancelarit UMR, por edhe në atë të anëtarit të Shoqatës së Miqve të Muzeut ku bën pjesë prej vitit 2019. Në prani të një publiku të specializuar, Kancelari UMR prezantoi si fillim kompletet e tre yjeve të mëdhenj të Urdhrit Suprem të Shqiponjës, të Urdhrit të Skënderbeut dhe të Urdhrit të Lisit Akademik, si edhe medaljonin e 100-vjetorit të Urdhrit të Skënderbeut. Më pas, për rreth 2 orë, ai mbajti një konferencë prezantuese me titull “L’Albanie chevalersque, hier et aujourd’hui” e cila u fokusua në një panoramë të historisë europiane të Shqipërisë, qysh nga Mesjeta, përmes historisë së urdhrave kalorsiakë dhe të nderimeve publike në shekuj. Konferenca u ndoq nga një sesion pyetje-përgjigjesh. Të pranishmit shprehën interes të lartë për sistemin e ri shqiptar të vlerësimeve honorifike. Aktiviteti u zhvillua në një nga mjediset më të zgjedhura të Muzeut: salla e Urdhrave mbretërorë francezë të shekujve XV-XIX.
Më 17 dhjetor, Kancelari UMR, i shoqëruar nga z. Dritan Tola, Ambasador i Republikës së Shqipërisë në Francë, u prit në një takim zyrtar në Pallatin e Legjionit të Nderit nga Gjeneral armate François Lecointre, Kancelari i Madh i 36-t i Urdhrit të Legjionit të Nderit. Gjatë takimit u renditën mundësitë e bashkëpunimit teknik midis dy institucioneve, duke pasur parasysh modelin që përbën për Kancelarinë UMR, Kancelaria e Madhe e Legjionit të Nderit. Gjenerali Lecointre vlerësoi përpjekjet e Shqëipërisë për t’u pajisur me një sistem domethënës të vlerësimit të mëritës, i përqëndruar te dallimi i njerëzve me kontribute, dhe u tregua i gatshëm të përkrahë çdo nismë bashkëpunimi teknik dhe institucional në vijim. Me këtë rast, dy kancelarët nënshkruan një marrëveshje për përfshirjen e dekoratave shqiptare në inventarin e Muzeut të Legjionit të Nderit. Kompletet e yjeve të mëdhenj të tre urdhrave kombëtarë të Shqipërisë iu dorëzuan Kancelarit të Madh, me synimin që në një të ardhme të afërt dekoratat e vendit tonë të ekspozohen në mënyrë permanente në muzeun më të rëndësishëm të dekoratave në botë, duke kontribuar kështu në rritjen e prestigjit dhe të imazhit ndërkombëtar të Shqipërisë.
